GRSF Concerts on the Green need our help

Over the past 7 years you have probably been among the hundreds of people who have sat under the trees, enjoying food, friendship and music at the free Great River Shakespeare Festival Prelude Concerts and are looking forward to a similar experience this summer.  The Theatre du Mississippi Music Committee has been busy planning this years concerts (now called “Concerts on the Green”) and has booked 13 shows for the summer season.

In prior years the GRSF has graciously underwritten the cost of these events.  However due to significant budget cutbacks they have had to recently withdraw their financial support for this years concerts.

With your help we can still make these concerts happen.  The total cost for the series is $9,000.  To fund this cost we are hoping that some of you, either individually or with others, will sponsor one show at the cost of $500 per concert.

You can also honor an individual or organization with your donation.  For example, Jo Edstrom’s family will be supporting the first event on June 24th to commemorate her 100th birthday!

However, we welcome any help you can give us.  All contributions will go into the concert series fund to pay artist fees and technical support costs.

If you would like to help, please make your check payable to:

“TdM/Concerts on the Green”

and mail them to:

Theatre du Mississippi
P.O. Box 647
Winona, MN  55987.

You will receive a receipt for your contribution.

Feel free to contact any of the Committee members with questions.  However you decide to help, thank you for making a difference.  And when you’re at the concerts this summer and look around to see the enjoyment on the faces of your community, you will be thanked even more.

See you at the concerts!
