The Practice of Drawing / The Language of Art

Figure Drawing Group

The Winona Arts Center presents “The Practice of Drawing/ the Language of Art” by a number of local and regional artists who participate in the Tuesday evening life-drawing group at SMU. This very brief exhibit will be on display from September 28-30th. The public is invited to a closing reception with the artists on Friday, September 30th from 4:00-6:30pm.

The life-drawing group has met for 7 years. It began as a way for community artists and students to draw the human form together one evening a week. The group meets every Tuesday from 6-8pm to draw. No instruction is provided. Partcipants share in the cost of the model. New members are welcome. Contact Julie Johnston at johnstonfineart@gmail.com or Michelle Cochran at michelle.cochran@rctc.edu for more information about the drawing group or about modeling.

The Winona Arts Center is located at 228 East 5th Street. Gallery hours for the exhibit will be 4-7pm on Wednesday and Thursday or by appointment.
