Winona Symphony Orchestra Children’s Concert

Tuesday, February 21, 2017 | 9:00 AM & 10:30 AM
Somsen Hall | Harriet Johnson Auditorium
Winona State University

In 2016, the Winona Symphony Orchestra revived their tradition of offering special concerts for children. Area elementary students were treated to stories told by the orchestra and narrator. Due to the overwhelming response, there will be two performances of the special Children’s Concert again in 2017.

The Children’s Concert is made possible by a SEMAC grant and donations to the WSO. The balcony is open and the public is welcomed to attend either performance for FREE.

Program: Composer Paul Patterson set two Roald Dahl stories to music: Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs. Patterson’s charming orchestral score helps Dahl bring his unique story telling style to these familiar fairy tales.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

The Winona Symphony Orchestra is a member of the River Arts Alliance. To learn more about the benefits of membership, please visit: riverartsalliiance.org/JOIN.
