Great River Shakespeare Festival invites the public to join them on Shakespeare’s birthday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Island City Brewing Company, located at 65 E. Front St., Winona. The event will feature recognition of the Friends of Will (GRSF’s volunteers), a taste of Artistic Director Doug Scholz-Carlson’s TED Talk, live music, refreshments, and cash bar. Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss the upcoming season with GRSF staff, patronize a new Winona business, and enjoy live entertainment.

Great River Shakespeare Festival is looking forward to showing its gratitude for the hard work of the Friends of Will. Shakespeare’s Birthday is also one of GRSF’s last pre-season events before company members begin arriving in Winona in early May. By May 9th, rehearsals will begin and the season will kick into high gear! GRSF is a nonprofit, professional Equity theatre company in Winona, MN, dedicated to dynamic productions of Shakespeare’s plays, extensive education and community outreach programs, and comprehensive theatre training.
