Blue Heron Coffee House

For the January Laureate Writers Series, poet and prose writer Adam Binash will read from his book Left Over From a Cake Walk. The reading will take place at the Blue Heron Coffee House and will be introduced by Associate Poet Laureate Nicholle Ramsey. After a short break and book signing, there will be an open mic. The theme of the open mic is FREEDOM.

Adam Binash is a writer from La Crosse, WI. His work has appeared in a range of magazines and zines. He is also a spoken word artist who has performed across the US, but he calls the Driftless Region his home. He is a co-founder of the Black Sheep Poetry Collaborative based out of Winona and has begun a spoken event in La Crosse called Random Moments in Verse that occurs the 3rd Thursday of every month at the Popcorn Tavern. Left Over From A Cake Walk includes both poetry and prose, and chronicles a life of travel balanced with an exploration of the everyday world.

This event is co-sponsored by the Blue Heron Coffee House and the Winona Fine Arts Commission and is free and open to the public.

The Laureate Writer’s Series is sponsored by the City of Winona’s Fine Arts Commission. The City of Winona is a partner of River Arts Alliance.
