FRFF to present award winning film “The Interpreters” at WAC

Thursday | April 11 | 7:00-8:30pm
Winona Arts Center | 228 E 5th St

The Frozen River Film Festival in collaboration with the Winona Arts Center will screen the festival’s 2019 Juried Award winning and People’s Choice Award winning film The Interpreters. The film follows Iraqi and Afghan interpreters who worked with U.S. forces, and who are now targeted by insurgents as a result. As one reviewer wrote, “it’s a raw, emotionally vigorous, and, only too often, devastating look into the lives of people who, by helping our nation, put their own lives into grave danger.” Admission is by freewill donation with proceeds going to the FRFF and the Winona Arts Center’s “Give the Arts a Lift,” a campaign to make their building accessible to all. Doors open at 6:30.
