Family Art Day Support Request

Dear Friends of River Arts Alliance,

RAA is asking for your help. We haven’t hit our target for Family Art Day funding so far this year, and in order to be able to offer it on September 7, we are looking to our community to help us. While we encourage people of all ages to participate, children are the largest beneficiaries of this day of arts education.

Our costs include arts supplies and rental of tables and chairs to supplement the Jaycee Pavilion space that the City of Winona donates in-kind. While we will not have a paid coordinator this year, we do hope to pay stipends to the artists who teach the various media. There is no admission fee to the public; we strongly believe in offering everyone access to arts education free of charge especially as arts curricula continue to lose funding in local schools.

Family Art Day has become a Winona area tradition. Since 2008, community attendance and enthusiasm has grown considerably, with over 500 people participating in 2018.
