The Art of Fine Furniture

On Exhibit June 20 – July 31, 2015 at the Winona County History Center, Free Admission!

“The Art of Fine Furniture” is an exhibit for showcasing works of regional and nationally recognized studio furniture makers, and offers workshops and programs that are designed for those who are interested in the extraordinary. Local fine furniture maker, Jamie Schell, will curate the pieces in the exhibit, which are made one at a time, many are one of a kind, and most of them are available for purchase. For 2015 the exhibition will explore the changing juxtaposition of artist and craftsman over time.

“These pieces are sure to become historic as well as artistic treasures and we are excited to help share them with the public,” said WCHS Assistant Director, Jennifer Weaver.  “The Art of Fine Furniture” opens at the Winona County History Center on June 20 with a reception from 1-3 p.m. and will be up until July 31. The opening Reception is free and open to the public and many of the artists will be available for conversation. Learn more at www.winonahistory.org and www.theartoffinefurniture.com.

Sponsored by Winona National Bank. This exhibit is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
