Eric Brisson Piano Recital

Eric Brisson, professor in the Department of Music at Winona State University, will present a piano recital on Tuesday, Feb.14 at 7:30pm in the Recital Hall of WSU’s Performing Arts Center (free admission). The program will consist of early works by Claude Debussy, including, among others, the Arabesques, the Nocturne, the Ballade, the Valse Romantique and the suite Pour le piano. These works will be performed in chronological order of composition date, ranging from 1880 to 1901, and as such will provide an opportunity to experience the development of Debussy’s compositional style, from his earlier romantic inspiration and influences to his refined impressionistic style.

This recital is part of a long-term project for Eric to learn and perform all of Debussy’s solo piano music. He is now about two-thirds of the way through this project, and he plans to complete it next year.
