Winona Municipal Band Concerts

Wednesdays | June 13 through August 15 | 8-9pm
Lake Park Bandshell

You know that summer has arrived in Minnesota when the Winona Municipal Band gathers for another season of free concerts. On any given Wednesday, you can find RAA members Heidi Bryant, Ruth Bures, and Janet Heukeshoven joining about 50 other musicians to continue the tradition established over 100 years ago in Winona.

The Winona Municipal Band celebrated their Centennial in 2015. Ruth Bures had the idea to create a community wide, year long celebration and she and Heidi Bryant worked with an enthusiastic committee to bring the whole city together to share the experience. The band’s very rich history includes the distinction of being the longest continually performing municipal band west of the Mississippi. You can learn all about the history and the centennial celebration at winonamunicipalband.org. Follow the band on Facebook (Winona Municipal Band – Second Century) to see the program for each week’s concert.

The City of Winona is a partner of the River Arts Alliance.
