Summer Organ Series – Updated

This summer the First Congregational Church of Winona in cooperation with the Southeast Minnesota Chapter of the American Guild of Organists has launched an organ recital series featuring performances by some of the finest organists in the Tri-State area playing on one of the finest organs in the Tri-State area, the 1929 Casavant Frères Ltée. Two recitals will be performed in each month of June, July and August.

The third recital in the series will be performed on July 7th by Brian Williams. Mr. Williams is currently the Music Director at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Rochester and serves as the Dean of the SE Minnesota Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. On July 21st, Jeffery Daehn, will perform. Mr. Daehn is the retired carillonneur at the Mayo Clinic. Admission to all recitals is by a freewill donation. The church is located at 161 West Broadway St. and is air-conditioned. The building is ADA handicap accessible at the canopied Johnson St. entrance. Light refreshments will be served after the performances. Doors open at 3:30 for the 4:00 performance.

The remaining concerts in the series will be:

  • Saturday August 4th at 4PM featuring Sue Fortney Walby, Organist at First Presbyterian Church in La Crosse, WI
  • Saturday August 18th at 4PM featuring John Mulyck, Freelance Organist in Winona, MN
