Named for a blend of Middle Eastern spices, Za’atar is an evening featuring three dynamic, female, Arab American, contemporary artists: Leila Awadallah, Sharon Mansur, and Leyya Tawil. Each utilizes interdisciplinary and experimental approaches to create evocative dance/performance/visual environments while addressing distinct aspects of Arab culture and identity, drawing from Palestinian, Syrian and Lebanese heritages. This event will feature solo work by each artist as well as a newly devised collaborative trio. All tickets $15, order at pagetheatre.org or call 507-457-1715.

This event is part of The Cedar Tree Project, a season-long exploration of cultural heritage, perceptions and identity through the lens of Arab and Arab American artists presented by the Page Series and curated by Sharon Mansur. Additional events and details are available at pagetheatre.org.

Sharon Mansur and the Performance Center at Saint Mary’s University are members of the River Arts Alliance. To learn more about the benefits of membership, please visit: riverartsalliance.org/JOIN.
