Join in the fun of the Opening Party of the 2019 Art of Fine Furniture. Meet the artists and check out another amazing exhibition of time-honored craftsmanship.

Founded in 2013 The Art of Fine Furniture is an annual exhibition featuring the creations of professional and hobbyist studio furniture makers. Furniture by definition is “the movable objects in a room that make it fit for living”, but furniture can be more than that and that the aesthetics, quality, and feeling one receives from an exceptional piece of furniture are as important as its traditional functional use. Showcasing the historic talents of fine furniture making, the pieces in each annual exhibit are handcrafted by regional artists and craftsmen and are testaments to age old woodworking skills with artistry of design, and are sure to be future heirloom pieces admired for generations. The exhibition is made up of various styles and designs that invite, and excite ones curiosity to explore the inner mysteries and workings of the pieces. Most of the pieces are for sale and can be purchased from artists directly. Artist contact information is available at the exhibition and at theartoffinefurniture.com.

New for 2019, we are taking a different look at the medium of wood with prints also exhibited by local artist, Zak Fellman. His intricate prints made from cut logs bring you closer to the details of various woods, alongside new amazing pieces from returning studio furniture makers and some new talent as well!

The Art of Fine Furniture exhibition and related programing is free thanks to a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Additional sponsorship from WNB Financial.
