Patina is a violin, whistle, pipes, accordion, bass, bodhrán, and guitar band that plays traditional, contemporary and original Celtic music for all venues. Patina started out in early 2016 as a trio.
Since 2018, Patina is a 5 member collaboration springing from the love of Celtic music. Members are Mike Watson, Kara Mae White, Sue Lee Ringwelski, Connie Dretske and Greg Peterson.
In 2018 Patina recorded it’s first music CD consisting of 5 traditional Celtic and 5 original songs and tunes. The CD ‘Travel Through Time’ is a good example of the Celtic sound that Patina loves to play. It is bright and lively with some very old traditional songs and tunes, with some of Patina’s originals. Their compilation of music on this CD truly takes the listener on a journey through time.
The band plays out around the Rochester/Winona/Lacrosse area of Minnesota and Wisconsin at many different venues; at the Irish fests, restaurants, wineries, pubs, hotels and of course for weddings, parties and anniversaries! They LOVE to bring their lively music to anyone who enjoys the fun sounds of Celtic, folk, originals.
