Mark Twain’s classic tale comes to life onstage, freely and masterfully adapted by James DeVita, with creative staging and a perfect balance of poignant and hilarious moments. When Edward Tudor, Prince of Wales, and poor Tom Canty, switch clothes “for the fun of it,” and are accidentally mistaken for the other, what they each learn about the other’s world will illuminate their lives — and yours — forever.

“It is more than a classic by a famous author- it’s relevant to each of us, regardless of the era in which we live.” – Joanna Heram, Director, on the theme of The Prince and the Pauper.

Eighteen home educated students will take the stage in Old Main’s historic third floor theatre. Headed up by Stage Manager Ashley Brown, six outstanding crew members will also “make the magic happen” through an incredible amount of costume quick changes and more. Come enjoy plenty of stage combat, chases through the audience and engaging characters, in this fast paced story that is great for all ages.

Old Main is thrilled to bring OWT back for the fourth time. The Prince and the Pauper extends the work of Old Main and the Gale Star Series events in providing quality performances for the entire family.
