Please join us at Café Congo for a very special event, “Where the Women are Strong”, featuring eight talented, local female musicians ‘playing it forward’ to raise funds for the Women’s Resource Center of Winona in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

  • Wabasha Street Trio: Heidi, Rachael and Nancy will perform classical works for piano trio: cello, violin and piano.
  • Wildflower: The folk quartet of Amanda, Aleah, Cindy and Patti present a fun program of covers and originals songs.
  • Stacy Hughes: On the acoustic guitar, she’ll be singing jazz, folk and popular songs, both covers and original works.

Admission is by a freewill donation to the Women’s Resource Center. The WRC serves individuals of all gender identities and ages in Winona County who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault, and are in need of safety, support and advocacy. Doors open at 6:30. Refreshments will be served. Café Congo is the “good cause” performance venue located at the First Congregational Church. The building is accessible for those with mobility challenges at the Johnson Street canopied entrance.
