SUMMARY:Opening Reception - Karen Savage-Blue’s Laughing Waters at MMAM
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota Marine Art Museum | 800 Riverview Dr.\nmmam.org \nLaughing Waters\, an exhibition of paintings by artist Karen Savage-Blue\, will open on Sept. 16\, 2022 at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. \nKaren Savage-Blue is an Anishinaabe artist\, educator and an enrolled member of the Fond du Lac Band of Ojibwe\, living and working on the Fond du Lac Reservation near Cloquet\, MN. Her paintings explore themes of internal reflection\, identifying with nature\, and exposing transitions from human to natural forms. There will be a reception with the artist to celebrate the opening of the exhibition on Friday\, Sept. 16 from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. The following day\, on Sept. 17\, there are two opportunities to explore the exhibition with Savage-Blue in a gallery Walk & Talk. DESCRIPTION:Winona Arts Center | 228 E 5th St.\nwinonaarts.org \nAs a part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the Winona Arts Center\, the acoustic trio Under Paris Skies will be in concert on September 16 at 7 pm. Under Paris Skies celebrates the music of French sidewalk cafes\, vintage jazz clubs\, Argentine dance halls and Latin rhythms. Together Ron Reimer\, Steven Meger and Larry Dalton forge a unique musical blend of wall-of-sound accordion\, swinging guitar and rocking bass. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Learn more.
