SUMMARY:artsXchange with Carrie Frederich at MMAM
DESCRIPTION:Minnesota Marine Art Museum | 800 Riverview Dr.www.mmam.org/artsxchangeCommunity arts advocate and organizer Carrie Frederich will lead an artsXchange conversation on Saturday\, October 22\, focusing on three main words – Community\, Connection\, and Collaboration. How can we as artists and advocates for the arts engage with our communities? In this artsXchange\, Carrie will share her lived experience as an arts professional and collaborator in the Winona Arts Community and invite discussion on what we hope that community will look like in the future\, and how we can make that happen! Carrie will also share a glimpse into the creation (and ongoing development) of her fledgling collaborative organization\, ArtFarm\, and the project they are planning to launch this fall. Participants will explore the museum’s collections and current exhibitions\, with special attention to Water Stories: New Work by Anne Labovitz and how the audience is encouraged to collaborate with the art to fully experience it. \nThe event is free for members of MMAM or RAA and is free with general museum admission for all others. Registration is highly recommended\, and space is limited to 25 attendees per program. Learn more.
