SUMMARY:Nine-Tile Pottery Class with Richard Spiller at WAC
DESCRIPTION:Winona Arts Center | 228 E 5th St.\nwinonaarts.org \nThe Winona Arts Center is pleased to offer a 9-tile pottery class with Richard Spiller\, local potter\, on Saturday\, April 15. Students will be given nine 4-inch earthenware clay tiles on a board. They will draw on each tile and then apply colored slips and clear glaze. Students can bring their own design or trace designs that are provided. Tiles will be fired at Spiller’s studio and returned at a later date. Cost is $30 for WAC members and $35 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:Page Theatre | Saint Mary’s University | 700 Terrace Heights \nsandbarstorytellingfestival.org \nRenowned storyteller\, performer\, teacher\, and artist Clare Murphy will kick off the Sandbar Storytelling Festival’s second season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday\, April 15\, with “Wild Irish Tales.” Celebrated for her physical dynamism\, wit\, and warmth\, Murphy brings the ancient art of story firmly into the contemporary world. Tickets to Murphy’s performance\, to be held at Saint Mary’s University’s Page Theatre\, are $25 for the public and $20 for students. Enjoy Irish music by local band Patina in the lobby before the show. \nAdditionally\, Murphy will lead a storytelling workshop at Winona Arts Center\, 5th and Franklin streets\, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday\, April 16. SUMMARY:Saint Mary’s Spring Choral Concert
DESCRIPTION:Chapel of Saint Mary of the Angels | 1160 W Wabasha St. \nThe Saint Mary’s University Concert Choir\, Madrigal Singers\, men’s and women’s ensembles and alumni singers will combine to present their spring concert at the beautiful Mary of the Angels Chapel in Winona. Led by Dr. Janet Heukeshoven\, this concert will feature guest conductor Patrick O’Shea (former director of choirs at Saint Mary’s) as well as student conductor Gianna Henningsen and accompanist A. Eric Heukeshoven. This performance is free and open to the public; arrive early for best seating. A cookie reception will take place directly after the performance in Alverna Hall. Learn more.
