The event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be provided. The exhibition was open for entries of 2D and 3D visual artworks by artists living within 150 miles of Winona. From the 265 juried submissions\, 26 pieces by Minnesota and Wisconsin artists have been selected for inclusion by juror Nicole Soukup\, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Winners of first\, second\, and third prizes and honorable mention(s) will be announced at the reception. The exhibition can be seen daily from August 23 through November 17 in the History Center’s Slaggie Family Lobby Art Gallery from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.

The monthly Jazz Jam takes place outside on Two Fathoms’ spacious patio or in the taproom if weather is bad. \nH3O Jazz Trio and Two Fathoms Brewing (formerly Island City) have helped support local nonprofits with over $50\,000 in total donations thanks to the generosity of Jazz Jam patrons! The poets reading include: Winona’s first poet Laureate\, James Armstrong; St. Paul poet and essayist James Silas Rogers\, who is also the anthology’s editor; poet and Minnesota Public Radio host Emily Bright\, producer of the long-running arts series Art Hounds and Ask a Bookseller; and two-time Poet Laureate of Duluth James Johnson\, author of eleven books of poetry. On Sunday\, July 21 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm\, H3O Jazz Trio and Two Fathoms Brewing Company will dedicate their monthly Jazz Jam fundraiser to Winona Volunteer Services (WVS). The monthly Jazz Jam takes place outside on Two Fathoms’ spacious patio or in the taproom if weather is bad. Donations from the Jazz Jam will help the Winona Volunteer Services Food Shelf purchase and distribute basic food items during the summer months – and help WVS get a proportional grant award based on what is collected locally. \nH3O Jazz Trio and Two Fathoms Brewing (formerly Island City) have helped support local nonprofits with over $50\,000 in total donations thanks to the generosity of Jazz Jam patrons!
