SUMMARY:Sandbar Storytelling Circle - First Session
DESCRIPTION:The Sandbar Storytelling Festival is once again offering a storytelling circle in Winona. A story circle is a small group of individuals sitting in a circle\, sharing stories — usually from their own experience or imagination — focusing on a common theme. As each person in turn shares a story\, a richer and more complex story emerges. \nEach circle/class will run 90 minutes starting at 10 a.m. every other Saturday for eight sessions this spring and summer at various locations around Winona. Participants must be at least 15 years of age. The cost for all eight sessions is $80. DESCRIPTION:Minnesota Marine Art Museum | 800 Riverview Dr.\nminnesotamarineart.org \nOn April 14th\, from noon to 1 PM\, the poet Athena Kildegaard will visit Winona’s Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) to read from her work and discuss how her latest book\, Prairie Midden\, engages with the history and ecology of the Minnesota prairie. Kildegaard’s presentation will enter into dialogue with the MMAM’s current exhibition of works by artist Ian Hanesworth\, Fragments of this Living Earth\, which spans disciplines of printmaking\, textiles\, and poetry\, and asserts the critical interconnectedness of human and ecological wellbeing.
