Zulema\, Perla and Victor labor as migrant farm workers\, sacrificing their own childhoods to help their families survive. This film profiles these three as they journey from the scorching heat of Texas onion fields to the winter snows of Michigan apple orchards and then back to Florida tomato fields. FLOTSAM! is a floating river circus that will be traveling down the Mississippi River this summer giving free performances for crowds on the shore. Jason Webley is a multi-instrumentalist artist\, presenting folk\, experimental\, and alternative music\, largely driven by the accordion. Joining the event will be Doctor Bob’s Puppets’ presentation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream puppet show. Doors open at 6 pm and showtime is at 7 pm. The reception will offer shared stories of Jean and her creativity with a potluck celebration to follow. \nJean Billman loved color. It permeated her life. She spent years playing with clay both on the wheel and by hand\, developing quite a colorful\, unique style in majolica. Her favorite medium became watercolor. It challenged her and provided lots of satisfaction. Jean’s family will be donating proceeds from the sale of Jean’s works to the Winona Arts Center in her memory. Learn more.
