You are invited to the opening reception with the artist. Refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public. Julie Johnston traveled the region interviewing and capturing images of women farmers. Her paintings highlight the multiple aspects of farm work these contemporary women farmers do. Johnston's art sheds light on the impact women farmers have in nurturing and feeding their communities. Johnston feels this project is a way to celebrate these historically “invisible” farmers. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund. |

The menu is Methodist Ham Balls with Charlie’s Cheesy Potatoes, drink, and dessert for $12.00. Tickets are available at Midtown Foods and at the door. Takeout will be available in containers that can be washed and re-used. Proceeds from the ham ball dinner power the work of the Charles Wesley Center for Sacred Music and Arts, which uses music and the arts to bring people together for experiences of grace. The CWC has made a point of showcasing regional choral music, The Heartstings Harp Circle, bell ringers, organists, pianists, vocalists, and instrumentalists from several regional churches and groups have taken their turn in the acoustically live sanctuary. Visual artists will also displayed their work. The hope is that people from many churches and faith groups may benefit from a stimulated interest in sacred music and the arts.
