Reading at the Book Shelf Marking 40 Years Since the Fall of Saigon
The Laureate Writers Series will present readings from the “Black April” issue of the Lost Lake Folk Opera magazine marking 40 years since the Fall of Saigon. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 9th* at 7pm at the Book Shelf, 162 W. 2nd St. and will be followed by an open mic.
The magazine contains a broad range of opinion and experience concerning the Vietnam War, the seminal event of a generation. There is work by combat vets, non-combatants, and anti-war activists, by writers young and old, from around the country and around the world. Emilio DeGrazia, Tom Driscoll (editor of the magazine), Lee Henschel, Jr., Ron Luchau and Ken McCullough will read selections of their own work from the magazine. If you have a personal interest, or want to participate in the discussion, please feel welcome. The program is free and open to the public. Copies of the magazine will be available for sale.
Emilio DeGrazia is a member of the River Arts Alliance.
*Please note that this is the rescheduled date, due to the blizzard forecast for February 2nd.
