GRSF/Maria W. Faust Sonnet Contest “Kick-Off” Event

Since April is National Poetry Month, what better time to hold the 2016 Sonnet Contest opening event!

On Tuesday, April 12, at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse, in Winona, 7 PM, with music by Flutistry beginning at 6:30, we’ll gather with our Poets Laureate, and likely other guests, to celebrate the 5th anniversary of this Sonnet Contest, since having been named in Maria’s memory.

There will be snacks by the Blue Heron staff, door-prizes of books authored by our Poets Laureate, likely a Speed Sonnet exercise, and reading of favorite or self-authored Sonnets. If time permits, a brief open mic will be held, with Sonnets preferred, but not required!
