Poet Leslie Schultz to Read at Blue Heron
On Tuesday, June 7th, poet, fiction writer and essayist, Leslie Schultz will read from her book Still Life with Poppies as part of the Laureate Writers Series at The Blue Heron Coffee House, 162 W.2nd St., Winona. The program will begin at 7pm. After a short break and book signing, there will be an open mic. The program is free and open to the public.
Leslie Schultz (Northfield, Minnesota) is the author of a collection of poetry, Still Life with Poppies: Elegies (Kelsay Books, 2016). Her poetry, fiction, and essays have appeared widely in journals and anthologies, including Able Muse, Light, Mezzo Cammin, Swamp Lily Review, Poetic Strokes Anthology, Third Wednesday, The Madison Review, The Midwestern Quarterly,and The Wayfarer; and in a chapbook, Living Room (Midwestern Writers’ Publishing House). . In 2013, one of her haiku was included in the payload of NASA’s MAVEN mission and is currently orbiting the red planet. She has published two middle-grade novels featuring main characters who are homeschooled with Do Life Right Press: The Howling Vowels (2011) and And Sometimes Y (2013).
