Art and Photography Competition Announced
Frozen River Film Festival is holding a contest, in association with the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, to select artwork or photographs to appear on the admission badges for the 2019 film festival. The contest will offer cash prizes in multiple categories.
“We are always looking for ways to work with others in the arts community, not just film makers,” said Sara Enzenauer, Frozen River Film Festival’s Executive Director. “We see this as an opportunity for our patrons to have ‘wearable art’ and for artists and photographers to get additional exposure and reach a potentially new audience.”
Interested parties are invited to submit work that creatively highlight different aspects of Winona.
Artwork from students in middle and elementary school will be featured on the 2019 Frozen River Film Festival Saturday badge. High School student art or photography will appear on the 2019 Big Muddy badge and the Donor Premier badge winner will be selected from all entrants of any age. Artwork/photographs selected as Honorable Mention will appear on the Sunday, All Access, VIP, Volunteer, and Press badges.
The winners will receive a $100 award, two admission tickets to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, and two badges to the festival in their category. Honorable Mentions will receive $25 and two Frozen River passes in the corresponding category.
Deadline for the competition is 5pm, July 16, 2018. Works can be submitted by mailing or delivering in person to FRFF, 160 Johnson Street, Winona (the Winona County History Center), or digitally submitting to contact@frff.org. Any form of artwork/photography is eligible. For more details on sizes and a release form, please visit: frozenriver.org/contest.
