Kathleen Peterson: RAA Member of the Month
Kathleen Peterson is a local novelist and playwright. Her Irish-centric novel Girl on the Leeside was written under her Irish-American family name, Kathleen Anne Kenney. It was published in hardcover by Knopf/Doubleday in 2017 and the paperback version came out earlier this year. Visit kathleenannekenney.com to learn more about Girl on the Leeside. Three years ago her novel Summer for the Taking was published locally by The Bookshelf imprint.
Kathleen has had two one-act plays and one full-length commissioned play produced by Theatre du Mississippi. She received a SEMAC grant in 2013 for a staged reading of her Dickens-inspired play, The Ghost of an Idea.
Currently she enjoys teaching a writing workshop at the Winona Friendship Center, and is working on an historical novel set in the Prohibition era as well as a new play.
