Laureate Writers Series – RESCHEDULED

DEGRAZIA DUO AT THE BLUE HERON

Tuesday | February 19 | 7:00pm
Blue Heron Coffeehouse

A father-son duet will be featured at the February First Tuesday Laureate’s program. Emilio DeGrazia, a writer, and his son Dante, a musician, will synchronize a program of words (unpublished) and music (live and original).

Emilio DeGrazia has published scholarly works as well as novels, volumes of short fiction, creative non-fiction and plays, and he and his wife Monica have edited several widely-praised anthologies. He is the founder of The Great River Review, a former Poet Laureate of Winona and an active citizen in the life of Winona.

Dante DeGrazia studied at Luther College before becoming a part of the music scene in Winona. He has performed with several bands, including Driftwood Bones and Karate Chop, Silence. He is also part of Doug Boodle, jazz performers who currently are resident musicians at Ed’s (no name) Bar.

This program will be a mix of spoken words and songs that combine classical, jazz and folk sounds. Any father and son would be proud as to have their bond celebrated in such a creative way.

An open mic will follow the presentation. The theme will be CHILDREN. This event is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by The Blue Heron and the Winona Fine Arts Commission.

The Laureate Writer’s Series is sponsored by the City of Winona’s Fine Arts Commission. The City of Winona is a partner of River Arts Alliance.
