Undocumented—Great Lakes Poets on Social Justice
Thursday | May 30 | 5:00pm
Bell Art Room | Winona Public Library
Five Poets Laureate will read in celebration of the anthology Undocumented—Great Lakes Poets on Social Justice, just published by Michigan State University Press. The book is organized around themes from the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “Ten Ways to Fight Hate: A Community Response Guide,” calling on readers to act on behalf of victims of social injustice. The readers are Joyce Sutphen, Minnesota’s Poet Laureate; Rob Hardy, Northfield’s Poet Laureate, and Winona’s three Poets Laureate: James Armstrong, Ken McCullough and Emilio DeGrazia.
Copies of the anthology will be available for purchase at the reading thanks to Paperbacks & Pieces. This event is free and open to the public.
Ken McCullough and James Armstrong are members of the River Arts Alliance. To learn more about the benefits of membership, please visit: riverartsalliance.org/JOIN.
