Laureate Series Open Mic

On August 6th, the Laureate Writers Series will present an Open Mic at the Blue Heron Coffee House. The theme for the Open Mic is “Mothers.” This event is free and open to the public. Come One! Come All! Show up and get your name on the list to read, recite, sing or play. This can be poetry, prose, memoir, song or some combination thereof or an instrumental. The work can be yours or the work of someone else. Bring your instrument along.

The limit for each person is FIVE MINUTES. That includes your rambling introduction, so stick to the time limit, please, as a courtesy to the other readers/performers. Your work may be earth-shattering but the limit is five minutes, nonetheless. Stick to the theme if you can—if you can’t you may read something else. This event is co-sponsored by the Blue Heron and the City of Winona.

THE EVENT WILL OPEN WITH A SPECIAL GUEST PERFORMANCE THAT WILL HAVE YOU TIED UP IN KNOTS!
