This month’s Jazz Jam is partnering with the Spanish Language Immersion Program Association (SLIPA) to support interns in the Ríos program. The monthly Jazz Jam takes place outside on the spacious patio at Two Fathoms Brewing Company or in the taproom if weather is bad on Sunday, April 21 from 2:30 – 5:30 pm.
Winona Area Public Schools offers the Ríos Spanish Immersion Program, a free choice program open to students across the district. It is the only language immersion program in Winona County. The goal of Ríos is to provide educational experiences, beginning in kindergarten and sustained through Grade 12, that support academic and linguistic development in Spanish and English. Students will also develop an appreciation of other cultures in addition to their own.
The Spanish Language Immersion Program Association, or “SLIPA”, is like a PTA. SLIPA is a group of Ríos parents and teachers, with the sole mission of supporting Ríos program interns. 100 percent of funds raised directly support the interns. SLIPA will also host a bake sale during the Jazz Jam.
H3O Jazz Trio and Two Fathoms Brewing (formerly Island City) have helped support local nonprofits with over $46,000 in total donations thanks to the generosity of Jazz Jam patrons! The March Jazz Jam contributed over $1,300 in support of the Winona International Friendship Association and the student ambassadors traveling to Winona’s sister city Misato, Japan this month. All Jazz Jam donations are matched by H3O and Two Fathoms.
Everyone wishing to sing, play, or cheer on their friends is welcome to join the H3O Jazz Trio at Two Fathoms Brewing Company’s monthly Jazz Jam! Interested players can choose from a wide selection of songs. Music is available from the Hal Leonard Real Book series, bring your own music, or just name that tune!
Come early to enjoy a beverage in Two Fathom’s spacious taproom and enjoy an afternoon of great jazz with H3O Jazz Trio and friends … all while showing your support for our community! An up-to-date schedule is always available at H3OJazz.com. The family-friendly Jazz Jam is free and open to all – young and not so young.
