Theatre du Mississippi presents Intro To Playwriting: The Art of Listening, an online workshop facilitated by Taylor Sklenar.
Are you ready to bring your story ideas to life, but unsure where to start? Or maybe you’re stuck with writer’s block, feeling a little lost? Join our Intro to Playwriting workshop, where listening becomes the key to unlocking authentic dialogue, character development, and engaging stories.
What You’ll Learn: In this hands-on workshop, you’ll hone your creative listening skills, discover how to say “yes, and…” to your ideas, and push past writer’s block to write with confidence. Whether you’re a beginner or have a bit of experience, we’ll help you develop tools to create compelling characters and dialogue.
What to Expect: Through group exercises, games, and discussions, you’ll practice turning your observations into authentic stories. Our interactive, online setting makes it easy to connect with fellow writers, share your work, and grow as a playwright. No experience necessary—just bring your ideas and your curiosity!
Who It’s For: Beginner and intermediate playwrights, best for ages 16 and up, looking to expand their creative toolkit and strengthen their storytelling skills.
Sign up today and let the art of listening guide you to a stronger script!
