Minnesota Marine Art Museum | 800 Riverview Dr
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) will host its Annual Report to the Community on
Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the museum.
This gathering is part of MMAM’s participation in International Museum Day, an annual event observed by more than 37,000 museums in 158 countries and territories around the world.
The celebration will begin at 1:00 p.m. with pie and ice cream, followed by the official program
at 1:30 p.m. with Winona mayor Scott Sherman. Guests will hear highlights from the
museum’s 2024 Impact Report, and enjoy the presentation of the 2024 Community Award to
Project Fine, and the 2024 Volunteer Award to Sandy Thompson, both sponsored by Sanborn
Canoe Company. After the awards, learn about the launch of the 2025 Annual Fund, and
receive an exciting update on the museum’s 7th Gallery Initiative. This is a free event, though
RSVPs are requested.
“In recognition of International Museum Day, we invite our community to reflect on how MMAM
is committed to making sure our community is a great place to live, work, learn, create and play,
for everyone,” said Scott Pollock, Executive Director at MMAM. “This event is a heartfelt thank
you to our many supporters, volunteers, and partners who make our mission possible.”
Each year, MMAM’s Annual Report to the Community provides a moment to reflect and
appreciate the collective efforts that drive the museum’s mission: creating meaningful art
experiences that explore our relationship to water. MMAM collaborates with hundreds of
artists, organizations, and community leaders annually to offer exhibitions, programs, and
initiatives that educate and inspire.

The Minnesota Marine Art Museum is a nonprofit art museum located in Winona, Minnesota,
on the banks of the Mississippi River. With the mission to create meaningful art experiences
that explore our relationship with water, and the vision to spark wonder and create a more
compassionate and connected world for all, MMAM boasts six galleries, an educational and
events space, and a destination retail shop on its seven acre riverside campus. It is through this
surprising diversity that MMAM is not only describing what marine art is, but pushing the
boundaries of what marine art can be.
