Bright Light Stories in the Night: poems & art

Join Southeastern Minnesota Poets for Bright Light Stories in the Night. One of Scott Lowery’s poems has been chosen for this one-of-a-kind deep winter arts event from Rochester. Local celebrities will read from an e-chapbook of new poems by SE MN poets and illustrated by regional artists. Following the reading, Susan McMillan, Rochester’s Poet Laureate, will lead a question and answer session with the project’s poets and artists.

Mike King, the artist paired with Scott’s poem, has given him a sneak peek at his drawings and they are stunning. You can tune in on Facebook Live (with or without a Facebook account) or Zoom. For further notifications, RSVP to poets.semn@gmail.com.

During early March, poems and art will be available for in-person viewing at the SEMVA Gallery, 320 S. Broadway in Rochester.

Just when winter seems like it will never end, Bright Light Stories in the Night will allow us to gather together and celebrate the light and connections we have in our community.

Scott Lowery is a member of the River Arts Alliance. To learn more about the benefits of membership, please visit: riverartsalliance.org/JOIN.
