Friday | February 11 | 3:00-4:30pmGreat River Writes logo.
Winona Friendship Center – Back Lounge | 251 Main St.

Note location change for February meeting.

Bring a copy of your writing that you wish to share (up to 2000 words). Optionally, bring 4 or 5 extra copies to share with participants.

As always, feel free to use the prompts below, change them, or ignore them and write your own idea. We will read aloud, then share verbal comments and suggestions.

February Prompts (same as January):

  1. My grand-daughter is preparing for her sophomore cotillion. She has the dress, the hair appointment, even a party limo planned: way more involved than any high school function I ever attended. Write about a special event in your life (or in a character’s life).  This could be a detailed description of setting and people, or it could be a trip down memory lane. Your choice.
  2. These days we text as often as we call people. Write a vignette that relies only on dialogue (as in a phone call) to convey the action.

Great River Writes and the City of Winona are partners of River Arts Alliance.
