Longtime area writer and teacher Scott Lowery returns to the Laureate Writers Series, Tuesday, December 5, 7:00 pm, at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse in Winona. The event is free and open to the public, followed by an open mic and book signing. Lowery’s brand-new chapbook, Mutual Life, examines everyday life during tumultuous times. Naomi Cohn calls these poems “fierce, funny, tender and ultimately hopeful”. Lowery’s work has been awarded the Julia Darling Memorial Poetry Prize, and appears in numerous journals and anthologies. He and his wife Connie Blackburn moved to Milwaukee in 2019 to be near their young grandchildren. Learn more.
