Experience Creating with Clay
Several hands-on clay workshops are offered this fall at Island City Clayspace, a storefront studio in downtown Winona. These workshops are for adults and teens aged 14 and up, are suitable for both beginners and experienced clay artists. Workshop examples are Pair of Mugs, Small Bowls, Decorated Tiles, and Holiday Ornaments. Clay, use of tools, underglazes, bisque firing, glaze, and glaze firing are all included. Workshops include detailed demos, and participants practice clay-working skills, express their individual aesthetic, and have fun! Functional ceramic projects are food-safe and can be put in the dishwasher, microwave, and oven.
A new, two-session workshop is creating either an Octopus Mug or Octopus Sculpture! The second meeting will be underglazing and glazing the bisque-fired projects. This workshop is scheduled for two Saturdays, Dec. 14 and Jan. 4.
Learn more details and register for any of the workshops through Winona Area Public Schools Community Education, at https://winona.cr3.rschooltoday.com/public/getcategory/program_id/4.
