Winona Arts Center | 228 E 5th St
$45/Members | $50/Non-Members

Celebrate a cozy winter afternoon with the meditative process of Suminagashi, or ink floating, at The Winona Arts Center (228 East 5th Street) on Saturday, February 21st from 2:00PM – 4:30PM. Led by Dawn Tevis, this Japanese paper marbling art is at least as old as the 12th century. Participants will learn to float ink in dynamic patterns on water and print unique images on your choice of surfaces, including notecards, coasters, and specialty papers. Whether a beginner or a practitioner, you’ll expand your skills by experimenting with new effects and materials, and leave with works you can enjoy as-is or use for bookmaking, painting, drawing, and more.

Also included will be a take-home supply of protective finish to apply to coaster once they dry. Ages 12 and up. No experience necessary. Class size limited to 15. Cost for members is $45 and nonmembers $50. All materials are included. Scholarships are available. Register today at jsbenson50+WAC@gmail.com
