Tim Hatfield to Showcase the Beatles!

Café Congo located at the First Congregational Church (161 W. Broadway St) is pleased to begin it’s 12th season with a fun and informative 1-hour event on Sunday, September 27th at 2PM: Lifelong Beatles fan Tim Hatfield, Ph. D. will present stories about some of your favorite Beatles’ songs. You can even sing along when they’re played if you’d like! Admission is free with your freewill donation to UNICEF and their efforts to help young children caught up in wars. During COVID, Tim wrote a anecdotes about one of the group’s many songs and shared his observations with friends and family on the internet. He wrote about all of their songs and later compiled those writings into a book, When We Find Ourselves in Times of  Trouble: The Beatles, which he’ll be signing copies of at the event. Born in Ohio, Tim was educated at Harvard and the U of M, and had a career as a school counselor in Illinois and Massachusetts and most recently a 30-year career as a counselor educator at WSU. So come for an  enjoyable afternoon and get by with a little help from your friends! The church is ADA compliant at the Johnson Street entrance. A reception will follow the event. Doors open at 1:30 when local pianist Nancy Bachler will be performing Beatles songs prior to the start of the program. All are welcome.
