Saturday, October 24 | 2:00 PM
Tickets: $10 | Wesley United Methodist Church
114 W Broadway | Winona, MN
Fall is here! Leaves are changing color, there’s a nip in the air, and there’s an eerie tap-tap-tapping at your window. Wait, what?
Sugarloaf Community Theatre is pleased to present our first Readers Theatre production, “Shuddersome: Tales of Poe.” Adapted by Lindsay Price from the works of Edgar Allan Poe, this collection features “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Raven,” and other spooky favorites. “Shuddersome: Tales of Poe” is produced by special arrangement with Theatrefolk (theatrefolk.com).
Sugarloaf’s largest cast yet is already hard at work and excited to bring these timeless stories to life. As a readers theatre event, this show relies less on props, costumes, and sound effects and more on the vocal talents of the actors. The ensemble chorus creates the eerie atmosphere – the beating of a heart, the chiming of a gong, and the raven’s haunting refrain, “Nevermore.”
Performances are October 23rd at 6 pm and October 24th at 2 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church (114 W Broadway). Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the door. Due to the spooky subject matter, this show is recommended for audiences ages 10 and up. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit https://linktr.ee/
