Poet and scholar Rob Hardy will read from his new book, Domestication: Collected Poems, 1996-2016, as part of the Laureate Writers Series. The reading will be followed by a book signing and an open mic. The event is sponsored by the Fine Arts Council of the City of Winona.
Rob Hardy is the first Poet Laureate of Northfield, Minnesota. He’s the author not only of Domestication but also of Aeschylus, The Oresteia: An Adaptation (Hero Now Theatre 2017), and The Collecting Jar (Grayson Books 2005). His poetry and prose have appeared in New England Review, Ploughshares, Rattle, New Letters, North Dakota Quarterly, and other literary and scholarly journals. His recent scholarly work has focused on the influence of the Greek and Roman classics in eighteenth-century Britain and America. Rob Hardy is a Research Associate in Classics at Carleton College.
