Celebrate National Trails Day at the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge with plein air artists capturing the beauty of nature. From 7 AM to 11 AM, watch local artists work along the trails, then join us for lunch from 11:30 AM to 1 PM at the Outdoor Wonders Learning Center, where artists will have their work displayed.

Please note: all visitors will need to use the Marshland Entrance, as the main entrance to the refuge will be closed for maintenance.

This event is free and open to the public. This event is hosted by Friends of Trempealeau Refuge in collaboration with The Michael Owecke Memorial Fund.

 

Planned Activities/Dates

Plein Air at the Refuge
Saturday, June 7

Artists at Their Easels | 7-11 am
Hike, bike, or drive the refuge trails and roads to experience the artists’ creative process firsthand.

Lunch & Art Display | 11:30 – 1 pm
Enjoy lunch at the OWL Center and view the artists’ work.

 

Plein Air Showcase
June 1-30

Sunday Street Markets | 12-4 pm
Live painting during Sunday Street Markets in June.

Closing Reception | June 30, 1-4 pm
Celebrate the exhibit and meet the artists.
