artsXchange – Fashion Landscape: A Sampler of 19th-century Stage Characters and Their Costumes

February 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Minnesota Marine Art Museum | 800 Riverview Dr.

UPDATE 2/5/24: Registration for this event is now full and waitlisted. Use this form to be added to the waitlist, and you will be contacted if a space becomes available. If you previously registered and are no longer able to attend, please let us know at admin@riverartsalliance.org.

River Arts Alliance member Kay Sebring-Roberts Kuhlmann, a historical theatre artist, will host the February 15 artsXchange at MMAM. Fashion Landscape: A Sampler of 19th-century Stage Characters and Their Costumes will introduce participants to seven of Kay’s history-based female characters through script excerpts and period textile arts. Actor/model Lacey Korb will assist her. The program unfolds within view of the Decorative Arts wing of the exhibition currently on view at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Re/Framing the View: Nineteenth-Century American Landscapes. Participants are encouraged to take a pre-look at that exhibit. We will seek enlarged understanding of how women’s fashion across that century served both functional and decorative roles in Re/Framing the View. Ages 12 and up welcome.

This event is free to attend for members of RAA or MMAM, and included with museum admission for others. Registration is required, and space is limited to 25 attendees per program. Learn more.
