Saxophonist, composer and educator John Paulson will be doing a residency in January leading up to a grand performance January 20th at 7:00 pm at Mayo High School in Rochester. The concert will include two Mayo High jazz groups directed by Aaron Cole and the 19-piece John Paulson Big Band featuring Janette Hanson. The Paulson big band will be performing several works from their latest CD, “The Refuge Project,” including the title track highlighted by the addition of vocalist Janette Hanson of La Crosse. The Mayo groups will kick off the program. The residency will also include a pre-concert talk, “Not Your Daddy’s Big Band,” January 18th at 7:00 pm in the Mayo band room. Learn more.
