First Tuesday Laureate Writers Series June 3

The Laureate Writers Series will showcase a selection of River Arts Alliance members, including Jim Armstrong, Jerome Christenson, Rick Hall, Terri Karsten, Daryl Lanz, Ken Mogren and Kathleen Kenney Peterson.

This month, the Laureate Writers Series will showcase a selection of River Arts Alliance members. River Arts Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and celebrating artists of all types in the Winona region. The program will include RAA member writers:

Jim Armstrong was Winona’s First Poet Laureate. He is the author of two poetry books and a contributor to several poetry collections. He also co-wrote a book of essays about the environment.

Jerome Christenson is an accomplished journalist and the author of No Ordinary Joe, a biography of Joe Morse, and Growing up short: a collection of tall tales.

Rick Hall is the author and filmmaker of Shine, a tale of innocence lost. He is currently the Arts Administrator for River Arts Alliance.

Terri Karsten writes both fiction and non-fiction. Her company, Wagonbridge Publishing, offers editing and formatting services to area writers. Terri is the chair of the River Arts Alliance Board of Directors.

Daryl Lanz is the founder and owner of Chapter 2 books, and the author of Hitchhiking from Fort Lewis and other stories, a collection of quirky short stories

Ken Mogren is the author of two Spunky Grandma’s books, along with over 200 sonnets. His book, Humor the Wonder Drug, is coming soon.

Kathleen Kenney Peterson, author of Summer for the Taking, is a novelist and playwright. Her plays have been performed in Rochester and Winona, and her writing has appeared in several magazines and newspapers.

June 3, 7:00 pm at the Blue Heron Coffeehouse. This event is free and open to the public.
