Sugarloaf Community Theatre Holds Auditions for Queen of the Library

Sugarloaf Community Theatre is excited to announce auditions for the 4th annual summer musical, Queen of the Library.

Queen of the Library is a quirky comedy for all ages with music by our very own Founder and Winona resident, Seamus Schwaba, and lyrics by Isobel Kunshek! The show follows two teenagers who go to the library for a study session and end up meeting a group of wacky and ghostly mentors who strive to teach them life lessons. Audition Registration is open now! 

Adults and children 12+ are invited to audition on the evening of June 23 and if cast, participate free of charge. Those auditioning should prepare and bring sheet music for a 1-2 minute long segment of song that shows off your singing voice; musical theatre songs are preferred. During your 10-minute audition time slot, you will be asked to sing your prepared song while a provided piano accompanist plays your sheet music. Additionally, you will read a few lines out of the script.

For those who are cast rehearsals will be held every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30-8:30 pm, however not every actor will be called to every rehearsal! The week prior to the performance rehearsal will be held July 28, 29, 30, and 31 from 6:00-10:00 pm. Performances will be held on August 1 at 6:00 pm, August 2 and 3 at 2:00 pm! All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will be held at Central Lutheran Church (259 W Wabasha St, Winona, MN).
