Queen of the Library is home grown by book writer, composer and director Seamus Schwaba, founder of Sugarloaf Community Theatre, lyrics by Isobel Kunshek. Come enjoy the variety of true characters from Lila THE LOUD ENERGETIC ONE to Harry Frogfish who is happy about literally everything all the time. And don’t forget the ghost of Beethoven who loves to spew indignant and strong opinions. Oh, and of course the Queen of the Library. Wait till you get a load of her ghostly self.
Community members—perhaps some your neighbors or relatives—are cast as follows, asterisk indicating a Sugarloaf Community Theatre debut. Lila – Carissa Moline*, Lucas – Aiden Indahl*, Ghost Queen Jompkins – Beth Pekar, Beethoven – Monte Jarvis, Harry Frogfish – Sage Young* with a fun ensemble of Edie Davis (Titanic Survivor), Karissa Sanders (Lady of the Renaissance), Mary Stoltman (Flapper Girl), Corinna Wagner* (Ballerina), Melissa Wangen (Hippie) and Ash Wicka (Civil War Soldier).
Wikipedia says, “Community theatre is understood to contribute to the social capital of a community, insofar as it develops the skills, community spirit, and artistic sensibilities of those who participate, whether as producers or audience members.” Come be a part of this welcoming and wonderful synergy that helps hold Winona in community.
