On behalf of River Arts Alliance and Winona Park & Rec, I would like to thank everyone who made our 10th Annual Family Art Day a beautiful success! We had about 33 artists join us this year offering a variety of artistic experiences for participants to explore: some favorites from previous years such as wheel thrown pottery and masks as well as some new artists and activities including bracelet making and puzzle painting. We welcomed more than 600 people to join us in exploring and creating. It was a marvelous day!
This event certainly could not happen with the time and talent of the artists and volunteers. Thank you to the following artists who so enthusiastically shared their passion and art making:
Heather Casper of the MN Marine Art Museum, Jamie Schwaba of the MN Conservatory for the Arts, Anne Scott Plummer, Mary Denzer, Sue Pariseau, Amanda Griggs, Fred Fletcher, Mickey Maslowski, Julia Crozier, Jamie Schell, Mary Singer, John Durfey, Jill Krase, Dirk Nelson, Michelle Cochran, Kathy Delano, Julie Johnston, Catherine Cleary, Patty Albrecht, Tom Dukich, Kathie Peterson, Spencer Klausing, Brianna Haupt, Robert Armstrong, Jacqueline Paulsen, Sarah Johnson, Nicholle Ramsey, Jennifer Weaver, Greg Taylor, and Patina.
Such an event certainly could not happen without the many helping hands of volunteers. We would like to also thank you the following individuals for helping in so many different ways:
Vicki Englich, Heidi Bryant, Ned Bryant, Linda Sue Eastman, Natalie Siderius, Ted Haaland, Greg Peterson, Gary Flynn, Ken McCullough, Patrick Grace, Barb Hassing, Michael Hassing, Lisa Stelmach, Mark Peterson, Jay Kohner, Paul Goetzman, Margaret Kiihne, Paul Stern, Ann Conway, Lexi Junker, Emily Smith, Keran McDonnell, Sarah Bontrager, Dana Langworthy, Sam Danielson, Megan Chandler, Baily Britton, Erin O'Keefe, Nick Garcia, Olivia VanDenBerge, and Anna VanDemark.
Family Art Day is such a wonderful and unique event that contributes to the wealth of our artistic community and to the creativity of our youth! We look forward to seeing you next year as we begin our second decade of Family Art Day!!
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
