GRSF Spring Design Preview
Great River Shakespeare Festival invites the public to the Spring Design Preview on Sunday, March 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Winona County History Center to hear exciting announcements about casting, design and more for Season 13.
Each spring, Great River Shakespeare Festival’s design and production team gathers in Winona to prepare for the upcoming season. Summer 2016 will bring Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It, the tragic story of Julius Caesar and the new bluegrass musical Georama, which was workshopped at GRSF in 2012. The design team works on aspects of the production that have to be ready to build as soon as the company arrives in Winona in mid-May. At the end of the weekend the public is invited to see the first glimpses of what will be on stage for the summer, including casting announcements, costume, set, light and sound design, as well as overall plans for the productions. There will be light refreshments available. The Design Preview at the Winona County History Center is free to attend and begins at 1:00 p.m., when attendees will have a chance to connect one-on-one with designers, directors and other production staff. The Design Presentation will begin at 1:30 p.m.
This year, the Spring Design Preview will allow Season Pass holders a special chance to reserve their tickets at the public event only. During the preview event, anyone who has already purchased a Season Pass will be able to choose their dates and seats to see each of the three professional productions. GRSF Donor ticket pre-sales will be on March 21 and 22, and Season Pass holders not at the event will be able to choose their seats once early seating sales begins on Wednesday, Marc h 23. For more specific information on ticketing and Season Passes for the upcoming season see grsf.org.
